Computed Radiography
Computed radiography allows for much higher image resolution than plain conventional x-rays. This allows for more sensitive detection of disease states and injuries. Also, because the images can be easily manipulated digitally, the images can offer more detail through digital manipulation to reveal detail that otherwise could be missed. Digital x-ray and CT images can be sent immediately for second opinions and radiological interpretation via the teleradiography units at each of the Texas Hills Urgent Care facilities. Also, because the images can be easily copied to standard CD disk, they can be sent with the patient to be viewed on any computer by specialist or the patients personal physician.
Helical Computed Tomography (CT Scan)
Helical computed tomography is a high speed and higher resolution version of conventional CT Scanning. It is made possible with the use of multiple highly sensitive x-ray detectors located within the CT gantry (the donut looking thing). Our Marble Falls facility is proud to be one of the first urgent care centers in the country to have such technology immediately available 7 days a week. The CT Scanner at our facilities compares favorably to those at local hospitals even offering superior 3-D reconstruction capabilities. Also, because images are recorded digitally, they are immediately available via teleradiology to our radiology specialist for immediate interpretations when needed and a copy of the images is made for you on a CD disk.
Teleradiology / PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems)
The images from the Computed Radiology units and the CT Scanner are completely digital. This allows physicians to manipulate the images to visualize greater image detail. Also, because the images are digital, it allows us to store and transmit the images in multiple ways: via encrypted high speed internet to the Radiology Specialist for interpretation and to your private physician for viewing , via CD-ROM.
