BASIC FLIGHT PHYSICAL $85 - Basic flight physical does not include any additional work by the AME or additional testing.  If you have any chronic health problems expect additional fees.  See below pricing for additional AME services required by FAA to medically certify airmen with chronic medical problems.

AME Assisted Special Issuance (AASI): $ 115

AME PERFORMED FAA CARDIOVASCULAR EXAM $75-135
AME Assisted Special Issuance: Required by FAA for certain chronic medical conditions such as:

• thyroid problems
• asthma / COPD
• atrial fibrillation / PSVT / heart arrhythmias
• heart disease - angina / stents / bypass
• diabetes
• sleep apnea
• migraine headaches
• history of cancer
• arthritis
• heart valve problems / valve replacement
• colitis
• some other chronic medical problems

AME Assisted Special Issuances may require several hours to several days to complete and process through the FAA.
Hypertension: "AME Assisted Special Issuance" is not required for high blood pressure alone, however it is required that you have within the last 90 days the following performed:

• EKG: $45
• Venipuncture $11.25
• Basic Metabolic Panel $33.75
• Cholesterol Panel $37.50
• AME Performed FAA Cardiovascular Exam $75

Current documentation from your primary care physician and cardiologist can be used to satisfy most or all of these requirements. Our Senior Aviation Medical Examiner is a pilot and is eager to work for you to get all your supporting documents to the FAA to obtain your medical certificate.

PRE-FLIGHT PHYSICAL ASSESSMENT $135 – Always a good idea if you have questions about whether you are qualified for FAA medical certification.   A pre-flight physical assessment and associated testing may be covered under your major medical insurance.  Do this before you schedule your flight physical and before completing MedXpress.

Pilots: Don't Wait till the Last Few Days to get your Cerficate Renewed. Those requiring Special Authorization can sometimes require days or longer before a valid certificate can be issued !!!
