Intravenous Fluid Therapy
Often intravenous fluid therapy is required when someone becomes dehydrated from gastrointestinal illness or other illnesses that prevent the intake of enough fluids by mouth to prevent dehydration.
Intravenous Medications:
The most common intravenous medications given at the urgent care centers are antibiotics to treat more serious infections. However, there are a number of other types of medications that are commonly given intravenously. Most of the intravenous medications given in our urgent care centers are given to patients seen by our physician and treated at the urgent care centers. However, your personal physician can also order intravenous medications to be given at the urgent care center. When your physician orders medications at the urgent care center, your IV infusion is overseen by a Registered Nurse who follows your personal physician's orders. There is always an urgent care physician on site should you need to be evaluated during your infusion for an unexpected reason. The RN will communicate your response to the treatment to your physician and send a copy of your treatment notes to the doctor's office.
Reclast
Reclast is a new, once a year treatment for osteoporosis. Your personal physician can order the infusion at the urgent care center by completing an order form: Reclast Infusion Order
